No settlement can thrive without providing the means for its residents to earn a living. At RAF Coltishall we aim to provide enough on-site employment floorspace and work opportunities to provide for all residents of working age. Of course we recognise that not everyone who lives at Coltishall will work there, and vice versa, however providing opportunities to live and work in close proximity is a step towards a truly sustainable settlement.

We believe RAF Coltishall could offer the ideal location for businesses looking to relocate out of city centres and into more affordable areas . Its attractive green setting and high quality living environment would be an ideal location for a new business and technology park able to attract first rate companies.

Other employment opportunities will also be created, including the service industry positions which were lost when RAF Coltishall closed. Jobs for both skilled and unskilled workers will happen as a result of the development: construction work including specialist skills such as thatching, teachers, park rangers, shop workers, caterers, cleaners, doctors, groundsmen, ecologists, care staff and maintenance workers to name but a few. We also envisage a range of training opportunities, not least in local building crafts and wetland management.
